A Lovely Review from a Fan

When I started my writing journey, I made a lot of mistakes. I mean A LOT. I’ve looked back on some of my early short stories and cringe a little. I was simply very happy to write, put it out there, and make enough money to cover a utility bill. I also wrote anything and everything that came to mind. I was (still am) very much in love with writing.

I haven’t looked at my old books in a long time. I was doing some clean up, and came across Tainted Demons.

Tainted Demons was my first, official novel length story. I didn’t have an editor, and I designed the cover myself. I think it still looks wonderful.

I had no idea how to market any of my books, and relied heavily on Amazon to do the work. Reverse PNR harem was big, and I tried to dip my toe in it. I had no idea how competitive it was, so of course, it bombed, to a degree.

So, I did what any new author did when a book failed to launch, I withdrew and mentally berated myself.

Never wanting to give up, I moved on, and tried to write different stories.

Flash forward to 2023. The above review was posted in July 2023, and took me by surprise. It reignited my own interest in my forgotten book. I reread it a few times, correcting mistakes, and re-writing some sentences and choice words. I reformatted it so it can be trade paperback.

Re-reading it was like visiting an old friend I hadn’t seen in years. The story is still lurid, tantalizing, and dreamy. Despite writing it, it had been so long, I had forgotten many details of the story. Re-reading it, I was enthralled and wanted to read what would happen next.

This next bit is to the authors out there, struggling to get known. Keep working at it. Write the stories you want to read and never throw anything away! Readers will see your work, and they will come around. Be yourself, or be a version of yourself you want to be seen as. The author and publishing worlds can be difficult to navigate. I am still learning and I’ve been at this for years.

It may be thought of as vanity to discuss your own book, but guess what, it’s my book and I can talk about it till the zombie cows come home!

I wanted to share this moment, because it feels special to me. I plan on diving into writing, and getting ready for Halloween, and the holidays.

If you’re curious, just follow the ravens, or the link below, to the book.

Thank you!

Love,

Eden
